What is Malaria?

Malaria is caused by a parasite carried by the Anopheles mosquito. Individuals who contract the disease typically get very sick with high fevers, shaking chills, and they can die if they do not receive proper medical treatment. Pregnant women and children under five who have little to no immunity & are more likely to become severely ill and or die.  In Uganda, malaria-carrying mosquitoes typically bite between dusk and dawn. A mosquito net hung over a child’s sleeping area can prevent mosquitoes from biting them while they sleep.  Going a step further when the nets are treated with an insecticide, it provides greater protection by repelling mosquitoes and killing those that land on it.

Malaria leading cause of death in Uganda

  • Children under 5 still represent 78% of global malaria deaths that’s close to 500,000 a year. Around 1,200 a day 50 an hour die of Malaria.
  • Children under 5 years of age are one of the most vulnerable to contracting malaria. In Africa, about 285 000 children die before their fifth birthdays.
  • The most effective means of preventing malaria is sleeping under a mosquito net.
  • A net usually lasts for 3-4 years, and protects, on average, two people.
  • Bed nets are a simple, cost-effective solution to keep families safe from malaria-carrying mosquitoes.

How Can You Help?

You can take two minutes out of your day and take a quiz! In those two minutes, you will save a child’s life. I also encourage you to share our link with others so we can hit our goal(Sophie & I) to save 1,000 children by Christmas. Is there a better gift to give a child?

Thank you, in advance for your kindness and willingness to help the children of Uganda.

To Ingest or Not to Ingest? A Question I Get Asked Often

I cannot even begin to tell you how many times I have been asked about ingesting essential oils. This month I address that very topic in my monthly column on The Wellness Universe.

Remember NEVER ingest an Essential Oil before consulting a professional.

One more reason I trust the Seed to Seal Process!

Are Your Household Cleaners Making Your Pets Sick

Another favorite of mine is buying the unscented bottle of Four Monks Cleaning Vinegar Spray and I add 12-16 drops of Lemon Essential Oil.  My stainless steel products are looking amazing, and it helps prevent fingerprints too.

Essential Oils That May Benefit Sufferers of Hashimoto’s Thyroiditis

I had years of experience blending essential oils and knew their healing potential.  I decided after years of not being able to find relief for our daughter who struggles with Hashimoto’s, I began experimenting with them to ease her symptoms.  Below are a few of the oils we used and one actually shrunk the lymph nodes she had been battling against for years.  This is our experience and it may not be the same for others. Please consult your physician before starting any supplement or essential oil protocol.

Lemongrass Oil – helps support the thyroid it also eases, muscle & joint while helping the body achieve balance. Lemongrass has antioxidant properties that may prevent the growth of some bacteria and yeast.

Frankincense-is one of the leading essential oils used for immune system health. Frankincense is high in Monoterpenes thus playing a significant role in human remodeling tissue and the dermal inflammation process. It may also help relieve pain, constipation, anxiety fatigue and mood swings.  (avoid if you have Graves’ Disease)

Myrrh– has been used for centuries to reduce stress and support the thyroid. Myrrh is rich in Sesquiterpenes which can help “dimmish miswritten codes in cellular memory” helping to reduce brain fog. Due to its anti-inflammatory effects, myrrh can minimize pro-inflammatory cytokine which can help reduce the autoimmune response.

Basil – supports the adrenal glands. When the body needs thyroid support, it usually requires adrenal support, so it’s a good idea to use this oil on a regular basis. When you address the adrenal glands, you can also ease symptoms of fatigue too.

Peppermint – is beneficial for hypothyroid sufferers by easing brain fog, boosting energy and overall thyroid support.

Endoflex– *** after years of lymph node inflammation, this blend of essential oils not only eased Sophia’s discomfort it reduced the size of her lymph nodes. I cannot say enough about this oil(these results may not be the same for all of its users this was our experience) We added fours drops to a small roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil applying directly to the lymph nodes daily.

How to Apply Essential Oils to Support the Thyroid

Apply topically (diluting oils with fractionated coconut oil) to the base of the neck; preferable around the thyroid gland. Also apply generously to the lower back where the adrenal glands can be found. Lastly, apply to the bottoms of your feet. The feet boast the largest pores of the body which allows for quick absorption. See diagram below

By using therapeutic grade essential oils on a daily basis, its user has the potential to experience their tremendous healing benefits. When correctly applied, pure essential oils always work toward the restoration of proper bodily function and rarely cause undesirable side effects.

Adding to My All Natural Medicine Cabient: Eucalyptus Radiata Essential Oil

Eucalyptus Radiata essential oi:

is known to be much milder than Eucalyptus Globulous because of its softer odor.  Eucalyptus Radiata is considered the most therapeutic of all three varieties of Eucalyptus Essential Oil. Eucalyptus Radiata is preferred by aromatherapist for its milder tones especially when treating younger children and the elderly.

The Eucalyptus tree is native to Australia, therefore not surprisingly this country is the leading producer of the essential oil where it is widely used in the pharmaceutical industry. Unlike its cousins Eucalypts Globulus and Citriodora, the Radiata variety that is never cultivated in large-scale.   Non-Australian sources dominate the commercial eucalyptus oil supply, although Australia continues to produce high-grade oils, mainly from blue mallee (E. polybractea) stands.

Some Additional Benefits:

Eucalyptus Radiata has a wide range of therapeutic properties it is a powerful antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-infectious making it extremely useful for all types of infection. When vaporized, its decongestant abilities help to clear sinuses, stuffy noses while soothing coughs.
