As I strolled along the breathtaking Bondi Beach in New Caledonia I felt as though the air, people, and hot sand beneath my feet had granted me a new perspective towards life and allowed my mind to wander off freely. On the other hand, it made me realize just how much time I spend at the office in front of a computer desperately wanting for some personal space, and some peace and quiet. As I have discovered inner peace for myself, I can only advise everyone who feels trapped in their daily routines to explore some of these vacation spots and activities in order to experience just how important it is to connect with oneself.

Try yoga

It is not uncommon for people to experience a crushing inability to relax on their first day on vacation. Once your body gets used to everyday stress, it needs to alleviate the stress and vent it somehow. Yoga is the perfect method for this. First of all, yoga requires silence, so you will need to find a quiet spot, and a place called Anse Vata in New Caledonia, is my personal favorite. Here you can enjoy yoga exercises with trained professionals who cater to your every need with soothing music and easy to follow exercises and meditation activities.

What everyone looks forward to when going on a vacation is definitely spending as much time in the water as possible, which is perfect for the heart and soul. Swimming activates every inch of your body as you glide through the water. While you are focused on moving through the waves, you will notice how your mind slowly frees itself from all the worries. The Natural Park of the Coral Sea in New Caledonia is the perfect place to enjoy swimming, diving, and other stress relieving activities while enjoying the extraordinary scenery that this location has to offer.

Golfing

For some, playing sports usually triggers feelings of competition as they only focus on the end goal, that is, winning. But this does not have to be the case, especially with golfing, which is less physically demanding, so you can more easily enjoy a relaxing game in nature. The one of a kind, New Caledonia golf courses do not only provide an excellent service to their customers, but they are also surrounded by beautiful landscapes. Lush green vegetation mixed with fresh air creates the perfect environment where you can make golfing your stress therapy. Grab your golf clubs and head out to some of these fantastic locations in New Caledonia for this one of a kind golfing experience for your mind and body.

Walking and hiking

Psychologists from all around the world believe that humans develop both emotionally and intellectually while walking. Walking and hiking in New Caledonia, experiencing the wild and exotic nature that it has to offer is certainly beneficial for one’s mental health. The Gouaro Dera Natural reserve is perfectly suited for long hikes; and even if you are not a fan of hiking, you should definitely invest your time in this profound experience for the body and mind. Once you scale the summits of the mountains surrounding Sarraméa, you will see for yourself why this particular destination is known as a well of spiritual enlightenment. If you feel adventurous, you can ignore the specified hiking trails and create your own personal route.

As the famous meditation expert, Amit Ray once said: “Meditation is realizing and expanding your inner beauty in every direction.” Catering to the needs of one’s inner self is crucial for surviving the hassle of daily routines, which drain us of our energy and willpower.

  7. Yoga is such a great way to re-connect with oneself. I’ve been practicing irregularly for years, but I always discover something new about my body or my mind when I go to a new class. Of course doing it on a beautiful beach wouldn’t hurt 🙂

  14. Oh man, I started taking a 30 minute walk everyday this year. You won’t believe how much it helps clear my mind. I go without music or anything (I keep my phone with me for safety), but I don’t let myself check it! It’s such a nice way to be alone with your thoughts, don’t you think?
