As I strolled along the breathtaking Bondi Beach in New Caledonia I felt as though the air, people, and hot sand beneath my feet had granted me a new perspective towards life and allowed my mind to wander off freely. On the other hand, it made me realize just how much time I spend at the office in front of a computer desperately wanting for some personal space, and some peace and quiet. As I have discovered inner peace for myself, I can only advise everyone who feels trapped in their daily routines to explore some of these vacation spots and activities in order to experience just how important it is to connect with oneself.

Try yoga

It is not uncommon for people to experience a crushing inability to relax on their first day on vacation. Once your body gets used to everyday stress, it needs to alleviate the stress and vent it somehow. Yoga is the perfect method for this. First of all, yoga requires silence, so you will need to find a quiet spot, and a place called Anse Vata in New Caledonia, is my personal favorite.   7. Yoga is such a great way to re-connect with oneself. I’ve been practicing irregularly for years, but I always discover something new about my body or my mind when I go to a new class. Of course doing it on a beautiful beach wouldn’t hurt 🙂

  14. Oh man, I started taking a 30 minute walk everyday this year. You won’t believe how much it helps clear my mind. I go without music or anything (I keep my phone with me for safety), but I don’t let myself check it! It’s such a nice way to be alone with your thoughts, don’t you think?
