What Is Self-Care?
Self-care is a choice to engage in the practices that are essential in maintaining an optimal level of health. This includes but is not limited to: physical, psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual components to support healthy well-being.
The first place to start is knowing your worth. The relationship you have with yourself should take precedence over everything.
How do YOU Improve Self-Worth?
#1 You believe you’re GOOD ENOUGH– If you don’t think so who will?
#2 Trust your gut– When you learn to listen to your intuition and rely on your feelings your decisions will be your own. When trusting your gut feelings, you will realize that when demands are pushed upon you, you will want to respond with what works best for you, or for both parties, rather than what works best for everyone else except you.
#3 Learn to Love Yourself- Self-love is being your own BFF. It’s treating yourself with the same respect, compassion, and empathy you would treat your close friends.
#4 Positive Positive Positive-. Putting yourself down can be damaging to your self-esteem and self-confidence. Start the day with a positive affirmation. Look in the mirror and say;”I believe in myself,” “I am kick ass!” (my personal favorite)
#5 Surround Your-Self with People Who Build You Up- I know this is a tough one. The people closest to us can be our most prominent critics. If you can’t remove them from your life limit the time, you spend with them. Find a tribe that builds you up and sees your worth.
The way you choose to measure your worth life a direct impact on your life! So, choose wisely, be kind to yourself, forgive yourself and most importantly create a life of meaning and purpose.
